Hi, I'm Dylan.

I like to break stuff and fix systems. Not always in that order.

2.8 MW cooling / 1 MW heating chiller plant, commissioned by me.

I work on complex systems: understanding non-trivial interactions, finding faults that cross boundaries, and getting the whole system to behave as intended.

Commissioning delivery

Readiness reviews, QA/QC, testing, integration, witnessing, handover and tuning — planned as one connected delivery process.

HVAC and integrated mechanical systems

Central plant, hydronic systems, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation, smoke control and the interfaces between them.

Controls, automation and fault diagnosis

Control logic, BMS trends, communications data, sensors, actuators, VSDs and equipment response used together to find faults that refuse to stay inside one discipline.

Engineering software and data

C#, .NET, structured data, validation, Git, Docker and practical tools built when a spreadsheet or standard process stops being enough.

Physical systems and software, treated with the same curiosity.

A commissioning-domain catalogue and compiler foundation for versioned equipment definitions, project instances, interfaces, obligations and evidence rules.

AirView

An edge-to-host telemetry model for normalising building-system data into historical analysis, fault correlation, remote diagnostics and commissioning evidence.

Things I like spending time on.

How I got here.

Growing up, I was always fascinated by how and why things did what they did. That curiosity took me from programming computers to building induction heaters and Tesla coils. Following that simple question—how and why—led me down various avenues of interest, and it has defined both my career and personal development.

2019–2020

Electrical systems

Control-panel design, estimating, component selection, manufacturing support, installation and fault-finding.

2021–2022

Programming and technical instruction

Programming, debugging, computer architecture, operating systems and general IT.

2022–2023

Internal software and operational data

Maintaining operational software and improving the workflows around it.

Testing, balancing, equipment setup, controls troubleshooting, investigation and handover.
